  • Just checking out BA facilities on our flight andwooo, we get a personal screen on the seat in front of us.

Got a ride pass granted for tonight as I'm a lazy sod and have ridden zero miles so far this week.

    Onwards to ordering some steelwork.

I sincerely hope today was the low point for 2016 out of the way. Stinker of a morning, with temp up to36 C by 9.30am, with a concrete slab pour scheduled here. They screwed it up and did a lousy job. Credit to them for actually working in 40 deg heat outside by the finish, but....

Then mid afternoon the usual screaming southerly change blows through with a storm that dumped half an inch of rain in 10 minutes, and 100 kph winds making a giant mess of everything else.

Finished the last of the red and white wine in the place and wondering whether my mood justifies wasting a large chunk of expensive Whisky or not.

    So, today can just FRO.

Sun shining and windy, but generally all good.

may chill for the rest of the day before doing a weights session. Yes, that's what I'll do.

Posted some stuff for sale in various places (commuter rucksack, ski helmet, ski spine protection)
Sorted out paintballing, about to call Hawksmoore.
as you can tell work is busy, so thank you tax payers (I'll do a MF on this) for paying for my time and for my brew.

Wattbike later at the gym then out for dinner with the Date. I should probably go back to A date rather than The sooner rather than later.

    Ciao

And Rick just put a big stop on my little cul de sac bait on the NHS thread. Something I am staying out of given the shit use of evidence people are using to present arguments

I hope you don't mean me....although Rick and the 'green letter' boys are not mods anymore, just 'trusted members' (unsure which word the emphasis should go on) :)

Anyway, today is more busyness at work, but tonight is pub and curry night in Town with a couple of mates so I am looking forward to close of play.

Nah you just respond to it and laugh. I've seen far too many people here and elsewhere basing entire arguments on a press cut from the Guardian or the Mail.

Just seen the Dates car bill for repairing windscreen wipers, Christ, no wonder people have trust issues with garages.

I know :) . Half the fun of it is the sheer lack of evidence or factual basis for some people's arguments. It's quite good fun putting facts/evidence in front of them and watch them try to ignore it or change the subject :D Especially when it comes to my 'specialist' subject.

    Downhill MTBs?

Have some free tickets to The Revenant premiere this evening so taking my recently released convict friend*. Good chance to update him with what's being going on in the world for the last 5 years.

*non violent crime, I might add. More, Stevo's murky waters.

Just turned out to be a wonderful day of adventure, emotion, romance, friendship, trust, dining out, laughter, tears, excitement, stories, old friendships being renewed, broken hearts, shattering young dreams and the realization of eventual unfulfilled virtue. And it's only half past five.

I've also got a new Henry Hoover so I am, sadly, as happy as a pig in shyyyyyt.

Now supping a cold pint of Mortimers cider down the pub while I wait for my banker mates to swan over from Canary Wharf for our Indian cultural (curry) evening :)

New Henry Hoover has done a cracking job of the kitchen floor. Bambino bought him down a blanket as he didn't want Henry getting cold overnight.

    Evening all,
Working from home with many interruptions today. Took the girl into school for a little while so she could remember what the place is like. That went reasonably well. Then had to go to the boy's parents evening this afternoon. That went reasonably well, nothing unexpected. If he wants to get As he will have to work harder and smarter. That's not exactly news. Although the physics teacher did say some universities consider maths and further maths to be the same so they only count as one A level. Seems like a bit of a con. Got to go into work tomorrow, but at least it's Fryday so I can eat fried pig.

Convict friend behaved, no illegal behaviour was undertaken.

The Revenant is absolutely awesome. Quite long, but bloody epic.
