Sram 22 red or Di2

My current ride has a 105 group set and I want to upgrade. Money isn't really an issue I just want to make the right decision.
Question is, for those with experience riding with both group sets which one do you prefer ?
Secondly, will the value of Sram red 22 drop due to the influx of electronic shifters?

Budget? eTap is £1k ish. Find a force chainset and brakes, whole shebang for £1200 or so.

You need to try SRAM, you may not like the way it changes gears, I could never get along with it. On the other hand I am really interested in etap.0

Just went through the same decision.
For sake of trying I went for ETap but not their chainset. Instead put in some Verve Infocranks. When choosing groupsets, the insertion of a crank based system is cheaper overall and more increased features if done at this point.0 -
Thanks for the feedback. I never considered Sram etap. After watching a few videos on the testing it could be the way to go. Is it available to buy online as yet? did the rounds of a few websites and couldn't find pricing. By the looks of it.0

Full groupset will come in c.£2000 and transmission kit, i.e. shifters and derailleurs, around £1250. Last I heard, it should be available around late March/early April.0

Transmission kit is £1038 on Wiggle if you have your 12% discount. If you really must have a Red chainset that should be easy to find for less than £200 new, let alone used. The only downside I see is having to manage 4 batteries. I thought one was enough when looking at the Di2.0

And its not that long ago Wiggo was chucking his Pinarello with electronic DA against and Italian rock face. Shimano are hardly spotless on the reliability front.0 -

How can you say Di2 is more reliable? how do you know? when etap hasn't even been released yet.No but Di2 is infinitely more reliable than a system that hasn't yet been tested by the public. Plus Di2 crash protection did it's job on that occasion.0 -
That's exactly my point. I've had every iteration of Di2 so I know the system intimately (and yes, it's super reliable when correctly installed). For all intents and purposes ETap doesn't even exist, so of course an established and proven system is superior to vapourware. ^ Absolutely, although it does exist, is available to pre-order and is being used by Katusha this year. We have to encourage as many people as possible to buy into being SRAM eTap beta testers!
I hope it will be great, but will be waiting for eTap V2, which I think will be an awesome groupset!0 -
You lot can test the SRAM ETAP for me, and after 6 months if it's all still looking good, I might consider it!0

My Sonos, my printer, both of my Amazon fire sticks, and my solar panels readout thingy.
I sold our Sonos system as it never had a reliable connection and constantly required updating.
My Iphone refuses to Bluetooth to my Mac.
My Garmin says my Iphone has uploaded my ride for me, but it hasn't.

Yes. Though it depends what use you put it to. My primary use is Netflix and Prime, but I have Plex installed so it streams all my Mac based media (wirelessly).
