I'm looking for a step-through bike for my wife. It needs to be fairly light.

This kind of thing: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/pinnacle/californium-2-2015-womens-hybrid-bike-ec054875

This weighs 13.5k - not sure how that ranks for this kind of bike. Are there better/lighter ones? Any recommendations?

Thanks.
Shut up, knees!

Various Boardmans, a Focus, a Cannondale and an ancient Trek.

I've never seen a light weight one. My wife has the Pendleton Somerby - it's heavy too - but it does have heavy pannier rack along with chain guard and mudguards - all metal. The seat on my wife's bike is like a sofa - tons of leather and springs.

I think those bikes are all about comfort and looks rather than performance.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

if you take the basket and the chain guard off, it will help. As above if you want something lighter get another style of bike. But that said,13.5 isnt that heavy in the scheme of things

Why does it need to be very light, she isnt going to carry , is she ?
