Hi all,

I am new to the forum and I have a question that some may not like.
I am kind of a noob in the bike world and I have a vitus vee 29 that I love.
It's amazing for what I need but I have this intense feeling that it would be better if it wasn't a single gear bike.

Do you think it is possible for me to add gears to the bike?

I am not sure if the frame can even take gears, how can I tell?

Thanks!

You can't add conventional gears, there is nowhere to attach the rear derailleur.

You could make it hub geared (Shimano nexus or alfine for example) or use one of the new fangled geared cranksets if any of the startup companies has survived, won't be cheap though.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
