Our friend Pinno, a bit of a bard
To write a poem, he tried very hard

He started a thread, to show what he could do
But rhythm and metre, he hasn't a clue

So come on lads, give us a verse
Whatever you post, you can't do any worse.

    (Not an entry btw)

    Bollocks!
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

  • An ode to Sportives

I pedaled lonely in a crowd
The cadence high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a feed station
    A host of old'en mamils
Beside the cake, beneath the trees
Fluttering and draughting in the breeze

There was an old man called Pinno
Who crushed lots cans made of tinno
    He's a bit of a t**t
    But we don't mind that
If we've drunk boat loads of ginno.

    Polish Christmas

Muddy carp swimming in my tub
    It's been 3 days I need a bath
    Go to sleep boney fish
Stop moving you're really annoying me
    I'm going to kill you

    Ode to the green stuff

    Oh nose, my only nose
    The volume it produces
    God only knows

    Could I, would I
    Pedal and snort
    leaving trails of green,
    On tarmac and verge
    with mud it will merge
    dripping off the machine
    a slippery trap
for the guy off the back.

    A tissue, a tissue
    My Haribo for a tissue...

    A cycling haiku

    My legs are a blur
Through the gears, then I slip and
    Crush balls on crossbar

    To him we must respect
    (Lesser men take note)
For there is a man who lives
Alongside the wood and the river
    In deepest darkest Shropshire
Along with the wife, 2 kids and his liver
For this man has pedalled miles
In weathers to make one shiver
    Fuelled exclusively with ale
Not by pint or yard but by pail
Not a ditch has gone un-frequented
Not a pub has remained untainted
    (No lamp-post or bush unchristened)
So it is this man we must look up to
    To cycle inebriated yet straight
Is a trick us mortals can't berate
On his top tube is this
which makes him hard to miss:

    Candy
    Is dandy
    But liquor
    Is quicker.
