Servicing Look S-Track pedal bearings

I have a pair of Look S-Track race pedals in which the bearings have started to creak, and a quick look around on the Internet hasn't turned up any information on servicing the pedals. For example, does the hexagonal plastic nut where the axle exits the pedal unscrew - if so, does the nut on both pedals have a RH thread or does one have a LH thread?

  • If their website doesn't give you the info in a tech doc, ditch them and get some Shimano SPDs
  • Well, it was actually pretty simple. The axle is removed from the pedal body in the same way as on SPD pedals, but doesn't use the same tool. I used a 19mm ring spanner, which was a pretty exact fit on the plastic collars that hold the axle in the pedal body. The collar has a RH thread on the LH pedal and an LH thread on the RH pedal.
