Best hardtail frame for less than 500 pound

Looking for a hardtail frane for less than 500 pound, want to use it for xc racing and want to run a 80-100mm fork on it. Either 27.5 or 29er on the bike. What are your suggestions. Thanks.

  Open mould Chinese frame off ebay for circa £300.

  Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

  Not really xc race frames though are they?
  There was a seller on eBay with carbon Giant XTC 29er frames within your budget recently.
