Which Dremel?

So my Masterlock bike lock failed this morning, leaving both my bikes chained to the wall anchor. Had to get the bus in! So I need to cut the chain off. It's 8mm hardened steel. Good excuse to get a Dremel as I've a few other jobs that need one. So would the cheapo 200-5 be good enough? The cutting disc supplied with it says it's OK for hardened steel. Or would I be better off getting the 3000/4000?

I'd use an angle grinder, any Dremel is a bit lightweight for hardened steel.
Rose Xeon CDX 3100, Ultegra Di2 disc (nice weather)
Ribble Gran Fondo, Campagnolo Centaur (winter bike)
    Van Raam 'O' Pair
Land Rover (really nasty weather  )

A big hacksaw would be my choice.
  • Tried a hacksaw this morning, impossible to use enough force safely with the chain looped around the bikes.

OK, thought a Dremel would be strong enough but I'll look at grinders. Cheers.

4 1/2" angle grinder with a thin fast cut metal disc.
  • Spot on, cheers.
  • £12 Argos grinder and a Bosch cutting disc, job done! Great fun, like a massive Halloween sparkler.

I've had to do this a few times.
Get a cheap tile saw from Wickes/B&Q, - it's the sort with a round 'gritty' blade.
    It'll take about 20 mins.
