Want to upgrade my wheelset

Haven't been on a MTB in 20 years, purchased a left over 2014 Specialized Camber EVO 29er. Rode local trails, meet some awesome crazy people super fun. They invited me to the NEMBA fest in East Burke, Vt. rode the Kingdom Trails and I got the fever. Some of the guys call me crash! in that being said, not sure when I bent my rear wheel, but it needs to be replaced. It was suggested that I go wider with the rims, thinking i9 hubs or Chris King. Any suggestions would be helpful for a wheelset $1200-$1500.

    This is a UK forum so no idea what you can get in your country for $1000.
    I wouldn't bother with Chris King hubs, they just aren't worth the money and aren't all that reliable. I would rather have Hope or DT Swiss hubs.
