Spoke length problem

Hi all, Iv been getting on well building wheels and have come a cropper on this rear wheel.

H+ son archetype rim,
Deore XT m8000 rear hub.

I got the hub dimensions from this page

And put the dimensions in edd spoke calc, I got 290 drive and 291 non drive

Problem is when building I'm finding the nipples are bottoming out of thread when the spoke is still loose, so the dimensions I used are wrong,

What can I do apart from buy new spokes a few mm shorter , can I go and get the threads made longer to allow me to get the tension No sign of them coming through the rim and causing inner tube issue

    for a 32 x 3 cross they do sound a bit long... don't know XT 8000, but the 785 needed 288-290 or so...

    290 is what I went for and defo too long, can't send em back now, may buy a set of 288mm but would rather now, never messed about like this before, doing my head in

    I don't think you are far off... 289 sounds about right, looking at the hubs (that appear unchanged from the previous). Make sure you use 12 mm nipples.

    I'm on 12mm nipples and 290mm spokes. I'm amazed I'm not getting away with 1mm. Thinking of buying some 288mm spokes and starting again, Currently got the parts all apart so I could thread a couple of more mm onto the spokes to effectively make them shorter, is this a good idea or am I better just starting again with 288mm spokes

    Spoke threads are rolled and there isn't enough metal to cut a complete thread form - it'll be weaker too so not advisable. How much thread is protruding from the top of the nipple? 1mm isn't really a problem although not aesthetically pleasing, but most of the thread is redundant from a load-bearing perspective
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    I have just ordered some 288mm ones now. Do it correctly
    Il only be gutted down the line if something goes wrong due to a fix I performed so thought better
