Looking for a DH/Freeride specialist mtb shop in the nw

Bought a Vitus Dominer and the idiots at chain reaction have made a mess of putting it together.
Said they will pay someone to re-build it and sort it out.

Been in quite a number of shops around Manchester but none of them seem to cater for DH/Freerider's.

Would be great to find a shop in the north west with mechanics that know the scene and how to set things up.
Also somewhere that sells relative upgrades.

    I just ignore my relatives, no need to upgrade them.

    What specifically needs setting up - most of it is simple - read Parktools.
    I don't do smileys.

    Exactly where are you? North West is a large area..

    Easier for someone to recommend somewhere if they know where you are..

    and a bike is a bike is a bike nothing hard to put together any bike mech should beable to do it.

    Not that big if you can drive and live near the centre of it all.

    Really not confident at the moment. Learning bit by bit. Paid them a lot of money for a bike. I expect it to be assembled correctly.

    Know a comp-intent mech though. Bit untrustworthy after getting my bike delivered the way it is of chain reaction.

    So what isn't set up right?

    As Nick says a Bike is a bike is a bike, anyone selling MTB's with decent suspension should be able to do it.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Okay then. Any recommended mechanics around Wigan? Dont want to bother with Alans. They were very cocky when I spoke to them about it.

    As others have said, any competent bike mechanic should be able to do what you need.

    If you're after a specific recommendation, although not on your doorstep, Twelve50 Bikes in Frodsham are brilliant. They're geared more towards mountain than road (although sell all types of bike) and a couple of the guys ride some seriously hardcore downhill bikes. For one of their shop rides this year they took their bikes up Snowdon and rode them down. Check out their Facebook page - there was a video posted not long after the ride.

    As I do all my own work on my bike I've never actually used them for servicing or repairs. However, I know people who have and they've been more than happy with the service. I can also vouch for their knowledge. I'm in there on a weekly basis annoying them with questions and asking for advice and their always more than happy to help.

    What is specifically wrong with it? What is it that makes you think that it isn't built right? It might be easier (and cheaper) to describe the faults and get help sorting it.

    I'm close to Wigan (Leigh), so if you get stuck, I might be able to help out?

    Failing that, give Chain Reaction a ring and tell them you're not happy. I'm sure they will come to an arrangement to sort it for you with minimal fuss. Like other have said, any decent bike shop with a mechanic will be able to work on a DH bike.
