Why is that that my local club can organise and marshall a race but British Cycling can't marshall a "major" race?

  • All I get is Facebook crashing out.

If this refers to The Tour of Britain, it is not organised by British Cycling, it's organised by Sweetspot, Mick Bennett's company.
To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.

The link has obviously been cut.
    Try this - http://www.edp24.co.uk/motoring/watch_tour_of_britain_team_cars_go_wrong_way_around_norwich_roundabout_1_4231698?usurv=skip

(You will have to endure an advert though, and you can still skip 45 seconds.....)
Whoever arranges for marshalls will be deeply, deeply embarrassed.
    Or, should be.

  • It looked like the road was open to public vehicles travelling in the opposite direction to the race. Is that normal for this sort of race?

It would be closed both directions unless it was a dual carriageway with some kind of barrier between traffic going different directions.
