I'm looking for some advice
due to my fecked neck i'm forced to use panniers and after 18 days off the bike today i really noticed the wind drag effect of having two cheap ar$e fully loaded side mount panniers.
I'm thinking therefore that a top rack mount bag would be mostly hidden behind my svelte frame :roll:
I need the capacity say 25L and having the option to expand slightly would be useful, any recommendations?

It's only 35cm wide...
Might stick out the side if Rolf is riding, but you (or me)? Not too much.
The Carradice I have (SQR Slim) was very good, but I went for a rucksack when I didn't need to bring in so much anymore.0 -

I have not tried it yet but have been looking at it for similar requirements as you state. it is also compatible with

I use this system, its pretty good. Very sheltered behind your butt with the seat post rack, simple to attach and take off. Reasonable room inside but expandable. Decent carry handle. A downside I have found is the light loop bit at the rear points towards the floor slightly instead of behind, means lights lose full effectiveness.0 -
Carradice SQR Slim. I'm amazed I don't see more of them, they're brilliant! I use mine for commuting, but I reckon it's big enough for some light 'credit card' touring.
I tried panniers for a while for commuting, complete overkill. Discovering the SQR slim was like an epiphany for me

I'd never fit enough lunch into that. I have two full panniers and enjoy the extra effort required to make it all move.0

The mudguard/fender findings were a surprise to me. I always thought the front mudguard in particular must be acting a bit like a scoop behind the wheel, like an air brake
