Tips for shock maintenance vs replacement

The entry-level shocks on my GT avalanche MTB have seized. Suntour XCM v3 I believe.

What's your opinion on attempting to fix them (either myself or via LBS)? Or should I save my cash and just by something new and better?

    ah, yes. the other side (shame on me!). Sorry, it' s been such a long time since I even considered there was any other way of riding that I didn't even think to look. Hence the seized forks...

    There's not much too those forks, just undo the 10mm bolts on the bottom and pull them apart too see what they're like inside. Clean, grease and reassemble.

    As above, its not worth spending money on, strip, clean, grease and reassemble or find something else!
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
