I'm looking for a little advice on panniers please. I've just had a rack fitted, in part for a child seat but for comment ting with a pannier too.

I'm considering two Ortlieb bags, the back-roller Classic and back roller urban.
Am I missing a trick?
The cost difference of the two are quite a lot.

Thanks

I'm sure that when I was looking at the ortliebs I found a site that you could do comparisons on to see how they differed but and I'm sure you've seen this it looks like the urban comes as a single pannier whereas the classics come as a pair plus they're made from different materials. I can imagine that the classics will be easy to clean and perhaps more robust than the urbans.
I've got the classics and I'm very pleased with them, I got wiggle to price match bike inn as well.

Thanks for your comments Rover, that makes a lot of sense the cleaning bit has sold it to me. I thought it odd that the city version has no strap.

The City version does have D rings that you can attach a strap to. I've just got some, and got a strap off an unused holdall to use, works perfectly.
    They're a lot cheaper too
  • Well I've had the classics for a month now and very pleased with them. The internal pocket has been invaluable as a commuter. Thanks for all your advice
