Hi guys

Long story short, can I replace my rear inner brake cable without un-wrapping my bar tape or removing outer cables?

Thanks

    Yes

Unless you're replacing a damaged/frayed cable, then I would be checking outers, shifters etc. properly.

  • Yes I've done that a few times only potentially tricky bit is threading the cable into outer just as it leaves shifter body. That said if you peel back the hood so you can see the exit/entry point it's easy to make sure the inner goes in - IME it's a little harder with gear inners but I've done that too.
