    Why?

    Didn't work out for him at Sky - no WT tour have come in for him so why not drop down and rebuild your career?

    In C-Weekly he puts it down to being somewhat disorganised and Sky and Rod Ellingworth in particular being the complete opposite. Ellingworth isn't one to carry passengers so made the decision to let him go

    I've heard a few rumours about some of the smaller teams he rode for in Italy, but who knows the real truth, I do too wonder what OP is getting at...

    You should post here more often Dim. You're someone I occasionally disagree with, but when I do I think I'd have an interesting discourse about it. (I more often agree with you).

    (For example, you did an analysis of EPO testing for in and out of competition which I felt was flawed because you lumped all testing in together, when in reality testing strategies at World Tour level and local level are very different)

    I know that JTL liked a bit of a drink as he was hammered at the brave heart dinner a couple of years ago. He tried to buy all of the signed jersies. But then all of the riders at that event tend to get a bit drunk.

    Disorganised covers so many possibilities. Dyslexia, dyspraxia, adhd + lots of other stuff. Could be the lad just needs a little extra support.
    Although Christine Ohurugo was disorganised so maybe that's what they're trying to avoid.
    But who knows? May just be a gifted but idle slacker or simply disorganised.

    Showing a return to form. Looked pretty good at TdY and took a stage of Azerbaijan I believe. Maybe the move to World Tour was a year or two early?

    I hope you are right, although in TdY he put in one big effort on one climb close to his home and T of A comprises primarily 3rd Div teams, so difficult to assess.

    He broke off the front of the peloton with a few km to go and there was no teams able to bring him back. It was a bit draggy but nothing remarkable. He was almost caught on the line.

    Looking at that and the VDB article he did, Shane Stokes tries to do an awful lot with not much material. That "interview" with Edmonson and his DS must have amounted to 3 quotes and a parsing of this years results and his VDB was a straight google translate of the Het Nieuwsblad piece.

    I'm just pleased he seems to have rediscovered his love of racing. I think in most cases where a rider doesn't get a new contract at the end of his 2 year neo-pro deal, the rider quits the sport all together. It's good to see that Edmondson is still motivated to race, and doing well enough to win again too. It'll be interesting to see how much interest there is in him for next season.
