Hi,
Has anyone ridden the Spada Breva Carbon 33 Wheelset?
Sub Kilo wheelset from a small Italian wheel builders - I have heard the Stiletto Crystals are great first hand and as a company they have an excellent reputation. They seem great value @1279 - It would be these or BORA Ultra 35's.
Current wheels are Shamal's which I love but looking for the Carbon experience.
Any thoughts?

I often post on an Italian cycling forum where they rave about Corrado Spada. He has indeed an immaculate reputation and the super light hubs he uses are their own design, rather than being rebadged Taiwanese hubs... I have not come across any negative feedback.
The weight limit is conservative and realistic (86 Kg).
Being tubulars, the carbon brake track is less of an issue and maybe you will only experience its limitations on a wet descent.
Worth asking if the warranty on the rims includes them being glued... I am no fan of tape, especially on demanding descents.
They are clearly designed to go up and down the Passo Gavia and not to go up and down the pothole littered Surrey hills, so bear in mind there is a drawback to a 900 grams set of wheels.

Finally, the Italian price is 1450 Euro, which is less than 1279 pounds... maybe there is some room for negotiation with the distributor/retailer or alternatively see if Spada does send wheels abroad (although any warranty issue becomes then more expensive to deal with)... it's a buyers market, meaning the number of products and retailers has gone up but the size of the market over the past 12 months has not... so everybody is desperate to shift stuff... always worth seeing if you can get a bit of discount

Thanks mate, looks like they don't offer a Campy option on the 33 :(
