The driver is clearly a grade A idiot, but the cyclist didn't exactly do much to calm the situation!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Cyclist didn't help things, but I can understand being more than a little upset after some psycho has tried to run him off the road. Driver really needs help, or shooting.

Throwing him over the hedge would be more than adequate.

Have you ever been so angry you spat on yourself? (0.45) The guys obviously got a chip on his shoulder. Don't blame the cyclist for acting the way he did.

The cyclist didn't do much wrong for the first half. He then got a bit mouthy but who could blame him. The laugh of it is that the road was quiet so the guy probably would have lost 10 seconds at most if he's waited.
  • Driver has been allegedly identified:

    http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/news ... ket_cafes/

He owns a couple of cafe's in South West London.
His twitter feed had been well and truly routed by cycling activists.

    Good.

In some areas that would be dismissed as friendly banter.

I may not go there, the reviews of the place don't look great to be fair.

I looked at the review total around teat time and it was less than 40, it now stands at over 200 reviews. One comment is very good and perhaps the owner should take up the offer.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Knew that would be on here somewhere.

That facebook page is now very amusing!

The public internet lynching is in full swing..I opened twitter earlier to an interesting image of him.

Seemingly he tweeted a picture of himself standing on some reflective looking bathroom scales; didn't take someone more than a few seconds to lift the shadows..

At the risk of going O/T the only two incidents involved in my 24 mile commute yesterday were on cycle lanes, the first where a group of elderly people stood in the rain with their umbrellas up completely blocking the path and ignoring my request to move (one did shuffle sideways so I could squeeze through). The next involved a 7.5 ton lorry that straddled the hatching separating the bike lane from the road giving me very little room. I just don't think the driver understood hatching and big pictures of bikes painted on the road. No idea really.

My point is that cycle lanes are a waste of space and create confusion at best and conflict at worst.

Embarrassing street theatrics from both parties.

The driving is very, very poor - and slightly actionable in terms of leaning in on the cyclist.

The 'handbags' between the two is excellent. Both appeared to be saying "Hold me back or I'll floor him" but nobody was holding anybody back and nobody was floored.

Both parties might be well advised to leave their urban lifestyle behind and breathe a little fresh air.

The motorist comes out of it far, far worse - and looks slightly like the subject of an Almodovar film. There may be a case for medication.

But the cyclist simply comes across as a gobby snotwipe who is looking to justify the cost of a Go-Pro. This is not the way to behave on the highway. We've all been squeezed and nudged and cut up. Some of us have even retaliated verbally or kinetically. But only a fool puts his own potty mouth on Youtube.

Both parties would do well to grow up a little before venturing out in public. The motorist is the major malefactor, but the cyclist looks a loon, too.
