I was wondering if I can run any hub on my dirt jump bike so long as the spacing is correct and I convert it to SS or does it have to be a singlespeed specific hub?

Any hub converted works, but an SS specific wheel has better flange spacing and builds into a stronger wheel due to the improved spoke angle on the drive side.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

It all depends on the frame.

If it is the right width and has the right axel size and fitting use whatever you want.
