Advise for carbon frame .

Always want to assemble a bicycle.

I want to buy a carbon frame. But different frame has different price.

For the carbon road bike, I want to know the difference between a$1000 frame and a$2000 frame.

    Actually it's about a thousand Dollars.

    There can be many reasons for price differences, but the main ones being:

    a) Quality of material - not all carbon fibre is the same, there are many different variables including production methods.
    b) The brand - some bike companies just charge more because they can, or perhaps the amount of Research and Development costs that they incur.

    Before shelling out a large amount of hard earned (I presume) cash, do your research thoroughly, read reviews etc.

    Dearer frame will probably be lighter, possibly stiffer, different carbon / layups, possibly restricted to internal cabling / electronic wiring for D12 / EPS. And some dearer frames you're paying extra for the brand, lifetime warranty, and the R&D that's gone into it's development.

    I got my carbon frameset when Scott were selling off the outgoing mechanical CR1-SLs. £2000 frameset for £500. Best of both worlds.

    Some frames are made in high volume in factories in the Far East and badged as appropriate for manufacture. Some are low volume runs on the bike maker's own premises. There are differences in the weave (how the fibres are laid down), the quality and quantity of the fibres, different resins, cooking times, pressure vats etc etc.

    If you look at the specialised frames they have a different quality of carbon for the various bikes in their range. Their more expensive carbon is lighter and stiffer than the cheaper ones.

    Hey, I am from china, our team want to make a bicycle by ourselves.

    Recently we want to buy some carbon frame to look out the different between them, so I post here, and that's why I want to know the differences between them.

    In china you can hardly saw a frame cost $1000, so I only can post here.
