Hi guys,
Been meaning to ask this a while but been busy riding lol.

I have a 2008 Giant Trance X5 which is doing me proud after all these years. But I have noticed that i very rarely using the outter ring on my crank (standard) SO i was thinking as is the trend these days to have a 1x* or 2x* i would remove it and put a bash guard\chain guide on. SO i need anything special before i start stripping her down?

Cheers

Matt

Well are you going 1x or 2x?

To go 2x and using a bash, just make sure its a thin metal bash and replace the outer ring with it (some bash's are much thicker and you need longer bolts) and adjust the high stop so the front mech can't try and shift the chain onto it, sorted.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Ok will have a look see and see what I can get. Cheers.
