Flat bar shifters

Hi there.

I'm considering building a flat bar road bike with either Tiagra or 105 groupset. The only shifters I've seen in this range are Tiagra which are £65. Are there any other (cheaper) options?

    I don't know about Shimano but SRAM you can use the X series shifters (ie MTB trigger type) with the road Apex/Rival dérailleurs. My hybrid came with x5 shifters and Apex for the rear and front dérailleur - worked like a charm. I dunno if you can use XT or XTR with Tiagra/105 dérailleurs - but worth checking out

    Thanks for the help guys. I've ended up going for a Planet X full build so no need to make the decision now :).
