Edge 510 map scaling

I like to create and follow courses, which I used to do on my old Edge 200. I have just bought a 510 and it does pretty much the same but when I start a course the scale is really small, unless I keep hitting the plus button to increase the scale.
It's not the end of the world if I have to keep setting it on every ride, but I wondered whether there was any way of changing this so that it defaults to a particular scale when I start a course. I assume the answer is no, but thought I'd ask anyway!
