I'm looking at doing this route soon:
http://www.peakdistrictcycleways.co.uk/ ... oute=JacL1

It's going to be a 3 hour drive for me to get there so just wondering if it's going to be worth it or is there better in the area? Needs to be approx 10 miles and I'm travelling the the Peaks to meet up with a mate who'll be travelling a similar distance from the opposite end of the country, so the Peaks is near enough in the middle.

Cheers

It's a great route(done clockwise) but the route in your link misses out Hollins cross/Mam Tor and goes up Chapel Gate...which is now a boring drag after "repairs" a couple of years ago.
Tough climbs, technical descents...It's not called the Edale Classic for nowt!
Free Parking in the Layby at barber Booth(get there early at weekends!) about £5 to park in Edale Car park about 1/2 mile away.

Is this route better than Chappel Gate then?

Thanks for suggesting clockwise, forgot to ask what direction to go. Would that mean we're going up or down Jacobs Ladder?

Cool, thanks. An extra 3 miles can't hurt :)
