This bike was built with a new frameset and mostly new parts. Wheels, bars, saddle and cassette were donated from an older cx bike which will in turn be converted into a winter bike with full guards etc. New wheels will be bought for this as these are very heavy, 2200g for the pair without skewers, and these will go back to the winter bike. Drivetrain is a mix of mtb and road parts for durability and the possibility of running big mtb cassettes and small chainrings for longer rides (not races). Total spend so far is £500 give or take, new wheels will be circa £300 eventually so £800-850 all in.

My first cx race is on Wednesday....I can't wait!

Thanks Ugo, followed you're advice going for the mtb mech.... means I have so many more gear options than a road based setup.

Thanks. The race was very much a case of being chucked in at the deep end but I enjoyed it all the same, looking forward to the next one when I will know what to expect.... Bike performed brilliantly. Very very happy with it. The 1x drivetrain was faultless and it handled the twisty sections with ease. Brakes were spot on and now they have bedded in properly there is loads of power available. Just need some lighter wheels to complete the package!

Its always something I mean to buy but never do. Its amazing how easy a jammed chain can take chunks of paint off the chain stay

Love the 1x setups, looks so much cleaner asthetically..

That zesty lime paint, looks nicer every time I see one. Itchy feet now, waiting to order mine

Looks even better in the flesh. Really pleased with the bike now its been ridden and broken in. 1x9 is working flawlessly and so much less hassle than trimming a front mech constantly. Wheels have been changed for kinesis crosslights running vittoria XG tyres tubeless.

New all up weight is 9.5kg. Probably got £850 ish in it so great value. Not losing out weightwise on bikes that are much more expensive...
