Route from Birmingham to London

Hi,

Myself and a group of friends are planning on riding the above route and we are looking for advice on the safest and/or recommended routes.

I've never ridden between Birmingham and London but I find this website good for choosing cycle routes. You can ask it to find the entire route or pick places of interest inbetween and do a number of smaller joined up routes.

I've done the trip to & from Birmingham a few times over the years - this is the route I took a few weeks ago:

Very nice first section, and a good way to enter London via Henley & Windsor - if you are looking to stay on the quieter, more scenic roads you may want to avoid the section going through central Oxford - (using the middle section from this route https://www.strava.com/activities/96926269).

I found Strava to be very useful for creating routes - using the plan by popularity function.
