MTB Bikes Buying Advice Please

Howdy Peeps,

Being a roadie for a number years I'm going over to the dark side :0) Hehehe!!!

My works are starting up the 'Cycle To Work' scheme once again, want to purchase my 1st MTB bike that I can use on the local trails of South Wales all year round especially winter time....Have NO idea when it comes to things with chunky tyres.

What do folk recommend for an MTB machine in the price bracket of up to £1100 please???

All input / recommendations highly appreciated.

Depends on the scheme to start with, I know a lot are restricted to certain retailers etc which will narrow your choices.

For me it would be between the Giant Talon 27.5 0 and the Scott Scale 750.

I also like the look on the Cannondales that are in that price range too, whatever the diff between them is???.....What are your thoughts on these please?

I'd say the same TBH.
The Canondale's don't seem quite as good a spec as the above.

If you had choice of going for either the Giant or Scott what would be ya choice then guys??....Plus I believe the Giant comes in a standard plus 29er too.
