Edds bikes in stevenage provide a good service, I went there as a first time road bike buyer and they were really good

Dean Taylor at Fit Me Up in Hertford, a Retul Master Fitter and a chartered physiotherapist. Recommended - I've used him. Easy parking (if you're driving) in a multi-story 5 minutes walk away, and if you go on market day a cracking fish stall too!

This is a good idea as even if you got for a bike fit in the end you will have a much better idea of what you want and learn more from it.

Well I went for a "basic" fit first (to Fitmeup in Hertford) which gave me a guide as to the correct frame size, with some basic geometry. This cost £35. And then after I'd got my bike I went back for a full retul fit.
