Hi all, wonder if any one can help.
I need a new pair of wheels for my old Boardman hybrid bike, but am having real trouble finding cheap suitable replacements. Don't want to spend a fortune as its only used for short commuting. They are 700cc, disc braked with sram 9 speed cassette on and running with 700 x 23 road tyres.
Any comments welcomed.
Thanks

Why do you need new wheels?
Sometimes parts break. Sometimes you crash. Sometimes it’s your fault.

    Whats your budget?

    You can get REALLY cheap £99: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/WPSHOEMRX0 ... c-wheelset

    VERY cheap £160: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/mav ... t-ec071983

    Pretty cheap £200: http://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/a ... h-hubs.htm

Fairly cheap and much lighter than above £260: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kinesis-crossli ... x-wheelset

or handbuilt from £300 upwards - if you can afford this, something like archetype rims on novatec hubs with D-lite spokes would be really good and the lower end of the price bracket

Davis, I need new wheels because the original ones are both buckled after the spokes kept loosening on our smooth British roads. The rear has been in LBS but they were unable to sort out the buckle and recommended to get it replaced a few years ago, so its not done too bad.
Thank you Apreading, I actually called into an Evanscycles store today and they recommended the mavic wheelset. But may well go for the planet x ones as i like there stuff. (own a pro carbon & just ordered and awaiting delivery of a rt-58 road bike).
My commute is only short so don't really need anything to flashy.
