    That was what struck me.

    But I can't get my head around DB's conviction that the policy is right, not wanting ex dopers on the team, etc, vs his half hearted defence of SK. It sounded to me that DB practically acknowledged that it is likely that SK doped but they can't get rid of him while he maintains his innocence. I'm no employment lawer but I'm sure that Sky could get rid of him, for a price, if they wanted to. Maybe his contract is up soon and won't be renewed, maybe they don't have any budget left to pay him off, or there is some other reason. Or maybe DB really does believe Servais has a clean record and just didn't articulate that very well....

    I guess it is impossible to know the ins and outs of something like this unless you're on the inside.

    Maybe he's sick of getting his @ss kicked through lack of road-cycling expertise on the squad, and there's enough 'wiggle' in the Knaven story to justify keeping a talented DS on staff. ZTP must be a significant competitive disadvantage to operate under when competing against Vino, Riis etc.

    Don't forget all Dave has to do is look someone in the eye and he knows if they have doped or not.

    Surely with this policy, they are asked to sign a document to say if they have been involved in doping. Servais has signed this to say he hasn't. Other evidence has come out to cast doubt on this, but until time hard evidence is offered, they will take his word (in the document) saying he hasn't doped.

    This whole Knaven debate is basically when you have a friend that says that they've become a vegetarian and then you find out he still eats fish. It's his and only his decision to become a veggie and his decision what that means. You can score cheap points if you like, but it's not going to trouble the RSPCA.
