Realised I'd never done a thread for this. Had it 2 years. Just cleaned it after a ride this morning. I absolutely love it, so much so I sold my Cervelo R3 as a result.

Superstar Pave 28 wheels, Vittoria Pave 24 tyres.
Deda bars and stem

    The wheels are great!
    23mm wide so suit the wider tyres and lower pressures. I had ordered a Kinesis 4S but cancelled it when I tried these wheels, you are only supposed to be able to fit narrow wheels and 23mm tyres on the Ribble Winter but I'm not having any issues with clearance, and groupset brakes still fit too.

    I did, I sold my R3 as I never rode it, I preferred this.

    Bought a Colnago the day I sold the Cervelo though.

    Loving those wheels.

    I had to clean my Ribble yesterday. I've had it 8 years and it get's treated like a dog. It's done 1000's of miles a few races and TT's and gone through several rings/cassettes and a couple of mechs and one pair of shifters as a solid commuter

    To be honest if a law was passed saying you could only have one bike to do everything this would probably be my choice.

    Bar tape is some spare fizik stuff with the black writing on, it wipes clean really easily. It's been on two years. The bars are double wrapped.

    Ugo, if you look closely you can see the 'pedal cycle support rod' behind/above the crank. A piece of bamboo...

    I also have some 32h ambrosio wheels built on excellights if it's particularly grim riding.

    I've got one of these, almost exactly the same but with 105 instead.

    It's too harsh for me and I hate riding it.

    very nice

    Can't beat a winter bike and the feeling of fighting the elements, though I never seem to wash mine, hence they are single speed!

    I fitted it with 23mm Vittoria Rubinos, but found that it was much smoother and faster on 25mm Michelins at 100psi.

    The whees were Easton Vista SLs. I really did hate those and were glad when the sidewalls wore out as it was a constant battle to keep them true.

    I had an alloy post too, which wouldn't have helped the clattery ride.

    I've got to hand it to the frame though, it sure is tough. I've commuted over 10,000 winter miles on it and had lots of crashes on black ice, but after I'd stripped and rebuilt it, it looks as good as new.
