I bought something from an eBay company in October and it's busted despite normal use.

Do I contact the company on eBay or go direct to the manufacturer?

Cheers.

Go back to who you bought it from in the first instance.
  • What does one do if they don't reply?

You could try PayPal....see if they can help out.

There is a procedure they have to follow.

    October?

    February?

Neither eBay nor PayPal will be interested.

    What was the item?

They are not cowboy outfits - they allow you 30 days to complain to the seller under the eBay Money Back Guarantee scheme.

    That's 30 days, not 4 or 5 months!
  • Thanks for the help. I'll try altering the feedback and going through PayPal.

The busted thing is a KCNC SmartMount. It's got two cracks going all the way through the mount part. I used a torque wrench, only a lightweight light and a Garmin were on there. It was £20 so I'm not happy.

I know PayPal only give 30 days or whatever it is to complain but when you buy something brand new from a company it should not break after five months - regardless of how long you get to complain to PayPal.

So let the seller know through Ebay message system. You can pick it up from your list of bought stuff.
Don't badmouth them before you've given them a chance to sort it out.

    It's not rocket science.

  • I have messaged them. And after four days they had not replied.

Hence my second post "What does one do if they don't reply?"

How do you badmouth a company without giving any indication as to which company you're talking about?

You didn't say at that point you'd messaged them with no reply. Being specific always helps.

You can go through the returns process anyway.

Most vendors limit returns to 2 weeks!

Not if something breaks, that's if you change your mind.

Buying online/Ebay is exactly the same as buying from a shop.
