One Small reason why you cycle in the middle of the lane

I had a small knock on the head by the wing mirror of a van. It could have easily gone so wrong.
It's hard to see on the clip as the camera was mounted on the handle bar, but was pretty scary at the time.

After that incident I took riding further out in the lane.

    Agreed, if you'd been further out, the van would have been much less likely to pass and might have beeped you instead of hitting you.

    I tend to move out approaching pinch points and when there's traffic in the opposite lane that would make passing dangerous, it tells the brain of the drivers whether they can pass or not and shows that you are letting them pass not being a prick and riding in the middle of the lane for the sake of it.
    I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.
