  • I think you need a freewheel and not a cassette, the one in the picture is a freewheel.

I've got a silver chainring (52 or 53, can't remember), I've got a freewheel which is shot, but it is not silver, more kind of brass coloured. I have one black big black flat spoke, but not as big as those in the photo... are they actually spokes? I obviously have tons of round spokes

Cool I don't think they are spokes in the pic but I can sort that at work as I work for a engineering company and thought that spokes would be a nice touch

How much postage would you like

  • That clock looks great - nicer than the wheel ones (I think they're too big).
Do you have a link to how to make it?

Sorry I have no link it looks fairly simple to make if your a hands on person. I will tack weld mine together and then glue the mechanism to the rear

  • I worked for Rolls Royce (aero) in Bristol a long while ago. We had to get special permission to draw round components with 4 or 12 equispaced features because the scrap rate on them was twice as high as normal :D

My first attempt - 160mm rotor, 22T chainring, 13T+11T sprockets:

... needs nicer hands, and I might lose the second hand altogether..

probably cheaper to buy a chain that post one - or have you tried your local bike shop? they must be constantly throwing out old bits
