Hi lads
After a year out from mountain biking from having an off which resulted in a dislocated shoulder and broken ribs I have decided to get rid of the full suss zesty 314 and taper down to a good and capable hardtail.
Not sure what's on the market these days as I nearly gave up the sport and haven't been looking into it of late.
My requirements from an of the shelf bike would be the following:
1 x 11
Good brakes.
And good tapered set of forks of between 120mm - 140mm.
Is there anything out there like this at present?
Don't mind upgrading parts if needed.
Thanks in advance

Bird Bikes - http://shop.birdmtb.com/zero/zero-am2.html its 1x10 but 1x11 is a pricey option to add to a bike and largely unneccessary with range expander cassette systems about making cheaper options.
I am sure there are lots of other options out there but have no idea what brands fit.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
Depending on budget the top end whyte 909 would tick all your boxes:

That whyte 909 looks perfect....but I'm looking to spend 905 money?
Hoping to sell my Lapierre Zetsy 314 2013 with upgraded XT brakes and shifters and just buy a hardtail with the money without putting to much towards one?
The bird zero looks spot on as well!
Think I really need to try some demos locally if possible
Do you think a Cotic Soul build would be doable for aroud £1500?
Don't mind buying used parts for it, especially the forksand brakes?
I know the 1x11 is an expense so maybe the 1x10 with a 40t expander on the back I'll suffice?
Have only ever upgraded parts so a full build could be quite daunting, hence why I would prefer an off the shelf bike and just upgrade it where needed?0 -

The 456 was very popular, not seen so many posts about them wince it went 650b. No reason to suspect its anything other than capable. And that looks a good deal. I still say 1x11 is an expensive affectation if you have a 1500 quid budget.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

I have the 45650b, originally in 2x10 guise, have since gone 1x10 but with the original cassette. Bike's brilliant!0
