Best value?

I am looking at two similar priced bikes:

Specialized rockhopper expert evo

Saracen mantra trail

Can anyone help advise which one is better value for money? I am finding it hard to compare different brands of gears, forks, and brakes. Therefore am unsure if components of one are higher spec then the other.

    Without knowing the money it's hard to say.
    Of those the Saracen if they're the same price.
    But neither would be on my list.
    I don't do smileys.

    I can get either for £800

    Can you suggest what else I should consider in that sort of price range?
