Hi All,
Firstly ive been setting up tubeless tyres for several years without much hassle on Stans Flow rims. Now however I have some Sram Roam 50 wheels and they are proving very difficult. I managed to get my contis mounted in the summer but have just bought some Maxxis Shortys.
The front I have managed to set up by first installing an innertube to seat one side of the tire followed by blowing up with a 240v air compressor. Followed the same procedure for the rear but having no joy, the unseated side of the tire sits stubbornly in the middle of the rim. I have tried squeezing the tyre to force the bead across but nothing seem to be working. Any help appreciated before I loose more skin!

I had a nightmare getting a High Roller II onto a Superstar Carbon AM. I thought it was never going to happen. In the end it was just a matter of perseverance and a lot of soapy water. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Indeed after 2 hours and some bloody knuckles I called it a day today!0

Get it wet. I use a water sprayer (houseplant style) with a very dilute.baby bath solution. Same as I use for invisiframe kits. When a tyre refuses to go on with the compressor a light spray into the bead in both sides is enough to.lube then up and they'll pop right on.A Flock of Birds
