  • Some things need sorting... the green tape is hideous.. maybe once dirty it will blend in... the saddle is pointing forward a bit too much... but other than that it's a beautiful beautiful bike. Let us know how it rides

  • The chain looks far too long... The rear mechanism isn't taking any tension by the looks of it and the cable to the rear deraileur looks about 6 inches too long. In fact the chain / gearing on that looks like an accident waiting to happen. Did you get this from Halfords?

Stuff the negative comments, once 5 minute jobs like the chain and saddle are sorted that's going to be lush.

    Very cool.

Couldn't agree more, but only if changing the bar tape is included in the 5 minute jobs. I do like them.

No the rear cable is NOT too long. The kit is SRAM Red, which needs a long loop.

What he said. That loop is fine (as I'm sure the OP knows).

yep, chain is too long, saddle needs levelling, needs another bottle cage.
  • Very cool build, I'm unsure of the bar tape, but it's certainly an eye catcher. It's a lot better than going with white or black bar tape!

Black is faster ..... And some say prettier.

  • If you do succumb and lose the bar tape, can I have it please?
  • Lovely bike.
  • Fantastic bike!

But... I agree with the "observational", comments.

Seeing as you have gone to the trouble of photographing your lovely bike against a plain white backdrop with a dedicated bike stand, I think it's important to heed the comments. Your chain IS too long, and the loop IS a bit long

Out of interest, can you post same pic with chain in big ring/ small cog scenario?

Frame will prob be my next purchase n+1 etc etc
  • The loop is fine. With SRAM you want to be coming in almost straight. So you need a longer loop. In this photo above it's exacerbated by the need to come from above and then do the loop.

Here's mine, for comparison, ignoring the coming from above, pretty much the same.

    Hi OP and all,
Lovely bike. I especially love the Logic 2.0 frame in anthracite.
Sorry if I appear to be hijacking your thread but.......

I am thinking of moving from my Genesis Equilibrium 725 frame to this one.
Mainly because it is about 200-300 grams lighter.
However do you know if the tube diameters (especially the down tube) may be smaller than those of the Genesis EQ?
I do not want a bike with a flexy DT/BB area.
  • Don't worry! It's lovely and stiff

Too much slack in that chain...

The original looks great too. The graphics on American Classic wheels have finally been sorted out by the looks of it, thank god for that.

Both are lovely and don't forget you're doing the bike for you, not a bunch of hacks on a web forum.

I'm intrigued with what you're trying to achieve: do you want a plush road bike or a polyvalent cross bike? in short, do you plan to put knobbies on them or are 23c Veloflex Masters more the plan?

I can see why you chose what you did - you wanted steel, you wanted discs, you didn't want mega-racy geometry, and I guess of all the steel disc bikes you went for Ritchey. All in all bravo for the choices and I hope you love it.

Spot on, plush road bike first and foremost however knobbies could be fitted especially in the winter when ice on the roads is sometimes a problem.
