Shimano brake bleeding clarification

Some advice please!
I have 3 sets of Shimano Hydraulics, all recent.
x2 sets 2014 Shimano deore
x1 set 2014 XT M785
I was always told to bleed from the caliper UP the system.
I.e. connect the syringe/hose to the caliper and push mineral oil up through the system either into the yellow cup at the lever end.
However the Park method on their website (about 2/3rds down the page) seems to suggest you begin by bleeding from the lever DOWN the system expelling air out the bottom of the system at the caliper end.
Does anybody have any recent experience with this or advice to offer?
Am I still ok to proceed bleeding bottom to top (caliper to lever) as I have always done as it seems to be the simpler method?

The Shimano techdocs tell you how to do it, bleeding down as they advocate using the funnel reduces the small chance of a trapped bubble at the calliper that they used to have (apparently), though if the up works for you.....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

but not every brake is done the same.
