Budget full sus frame

Toying with the idea of purchasing a full sus frame and swapping over as much from my Cannondale Trail SL hardtail as possible. I'd need a frame to take my 100mm RS Reba & 30.9mm seatpost. Looking for something with a shock already. Budget of around £150. Is this project possible?

Maybe - have to scour Ebay, and then you'll be lucky to get anything decent. Maybe an old Specialized FSR XC or older Stumpy.0

How about an older Giant Anthem? I think that may work. Don't know much about these frames but it takes a 100mm fork, and the one below sold within my budget.

That too if it comes in budget. Just make sure it is in good condition, a lot bearings on these designs.0

If you want to use all the bits you need to make a list of sizes - steerer, headset, BB, etc and do the same with any frame.
It will make it harder to find one in budget, but a couple of bits could blow your budget totally.
I'd sell the HT and use the money.
£800 bargain.

The Sunn looks a bargain.
Although not sure about future support/spares - think I read they went under not so long back._______________

The Sunn looks like a bargain, comes with a year warranty as well. Is definitely tempting.0

CRC are giving a year warranty - but apart from the frame, all the bits are just generic bits. At the price I would.I don't do smileys.

The quoted weight looks very unlikely with that component list, even a hardtail would struggle starting with a 0.5Kg lighter frame, nearer 13.5Kg would be my guess.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Seems ok for the money...

I'd suggest saving up a bit more though, say at least £200 but ideally £250. That would buy something like a Commencal Meta 5.5 frame or newer Specialized Stumpy...

Stumpjumpers are very good. Commencal Meta's were ok but had a very fragile back end.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will keep an eye out, if nothing comes within budget then I may just ride the HT I have throughout the winter and save for a used full bike rather than a frame. I'm going to keep an eye out for a bargain frame still though!0

Keep an eye out in the classifieds here - there will be a Stumpjumper going up soon...0

Yes it is. Good frame as long as the shock and bearings are ok.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Anyone know where I might be able to find the steerer length for my frame Cannondale Trail SL 2010 and a Spesh FSR XC Pro 2007?
Trying to understand wether or not my forks will fit0 -
You can measure your bike, ask the seller to measure theirs.I don't do smileys.

Thanks, very very obvious!
My next problem is I think my forks are 1.5 as that's what my bike says and the Speciailzed is 1.8. Will this work with a special headset adaptor?
Sorry if these questions are a little stupid, I'm very much a newbie to bike parts and components.0 -
If the Spesh has a full 44mm headtube then it can usually be made to fit using external bearings each end (you'll need a 25mm longer steerer to cope with the extra stack height. I don't know what headtube it has.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
