    What's happened? This, together with the Fred Whitton and the Polka Dot Challenge are the "historic" sportives in the UK...
    It's a bit pricey, but it's for a good cause, unlike similarly priced events which are ran for profit.

    The Etape du Dales is organised by a rather large charity organisation... I doubt they would cancel it, unless they have to due to severe weather or so. It's well supported by the local community, it's been going on for many years and it's always been a successful event.
    It's not like those events ran fro profit that get cancelled as there isn't enough money in the pot

    I think that's exactly the case, it was the Pennines, run by IDG who also run the Caledonia which is famous for being a charidy ride where none of the entry fee goes to Marie Curie.
