I have been looking at the new Commencal bike's and they all seem to have a black cassette called the SRAM PG1020 11-36 t, black. I don't think this is the X1 or XO1 cassette can anybody help me with this. Can you buy this cassette anywhere, I can't seem to find it.

Probably just an OEM part, although this place sells them but not currently in stock...

  • No. Perhaps that's 1 in say 500 posts where I've said Google would be best used first.

Funny you should link to that. That's the exact same page I got when I Googled it.

I did not get this page when I Googled it. Thanks I'll keep a check to see if they come back in stock.

Just noticed where you're located so here's some shops in Ontario...

There's a good one in Port Credit too but I can't remember what it's called. Gears maybe? It's over not far from the lake and across the road from Tim Hortons if that's any help! Been a while since I was over there so memory is ropey.

Anyway, it might be worth asking if any of those store can order it for you as you'd get stung for international postage / customs otherwise.

  • I also ask why do you want it. IME Shimano are a lot better than the cheaper SRAMs.

Haha, well I would have to agree with you on that :)

Black cassettes don't stay black very long. Just get a Shimano XT cassette cheaper.

Gears is not to far away from campus so. I will ask in there tomorrow before class.

+1, and they look really shit when they wear. Look at pics of even slightly worn X01 cassettes, they look dreadful.
  • Just went into Gears and asked if they had any. They had one they recently they took off one of there own bikes and it was going to go to waste so i got it for free.
