Sportive bike for under £1500?

Hi,

I currently ride a 2011 Roubaix in size 54cm frame. I am looking to upgrade as for some reason i don't find the roubaix geometry as inspiring as my old tarmac. Saying that i don't want geometry like the tarmac again as i am very inflexible. I often do century rides at the weekends including sportives and for some reason get a very sore neck after around 100k.Im doing the Wiggle Dragon tour and the Haute Route next summer so i need something capable.

I have a few bikes in mind, Canyon Endurance CF, Cannondale synapse, Giant Defy, OR another, newer Roubaix.

Any advice would be great

    There's a new magazine out this month called "Bikes Etc" from the "Cyclist" lot and they test "£1400 Carbon bikes"

    The Canyon Endurance CF 8.0 takes it ... Very impressed with it ... "Canyon has produced a bona fide winner","offering a classy frame with an incredible spec for the price".

    May be worth a read ...

    How about Rose bikes? Here are a few of their selection under £1500 for Carbon frames but there are other frames to pick from. I have a Aluminium Rose Pro SL 3000 on order as my bad weather/training bike and have been very impressed with customer service so far.

    There is the options of different frame colours and the rest of the spec can also be changed easily.

    The kit on their bikes is all good and the groupsets are complete and don't try to save money like other by putting in a FSA crank or other hidden crap.

    Whats the differences between all these new models? Is it just handlebar stem seat post and wheels??

    Amazing value, £1400 for full Ultegra

    there is a Compare facility on the site. Just select the models you're interested in & it makes the process easy. Am going for the CGF3000 with Ksyrium Elite S early next year; great value. Just have a read at the test reports done by the magazines on the site..

    Have seen that Moda are doing their Molto with matching blue Ksyrium's and 105 groupo for £1500. Just a matter of finding one of their dealers.

    Personally, I like the idea of straying away from the big brands for the smaller ones that I won't always see out on the roads! :)

    Frame is the same and the main difference is the group set. My alu bike build cost £1100 in total and has full Ultegra 6800 11speed and ritchey finishing kit and cockpit. Rose bikes got a good reviews in cycling plus bike of the year award and this was what put me onto to them.

    Link shoes AM Classic wheels with SRAM for £1999. But they have a stock of 105 builds with matching blue Ksyrium wheels at £1500.

    thanks for the heads-up JSCL, didn't get that far into their site. One of the test review links on the Dolan website mentions how solid the rear triangle is, wouldn't have thought that would be good for sportive. Other review contradicted though....

    +1 for the Dolan etape, i bought a frame and built it up myself, comfortable and quick.
