Hi all first post on here site looks really good.

Am looking to rebulid my rear wheel as i was taken out and the rim was dammaged beyond repair, everyting else survived so am looking at replacing my WTB STi19 29r rim with something a bit better. So far ive looked at the Mavic XM 719 as ive always been a fan of the mavic rims.

Thanks.

For it's width the 719 is pretty heavy....personally I'd go with a Stans Crest or Arch.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Are Halo rims any good? I do like the look of the Crest though.

Depends what sort of riding you'll do really, and which Halo rim.

  • Mavic for me but as the poster above says depends what type of riding you are doing
