I've seen that a few times and it still does strange things to my stomach. I used to be really scared of heights but they don't really bother me any more.

For my birthday I walked over the Milennium Dome, drank champagne up the Shard, drank cocktails and had dinner in the Oxo Tower and then went on the London Eye. At my highest I was about half of the height of the guys in the video. Those guys are cut from a different cloth.

Back in my army air corp days the crew would wander around the back of training aircraft with the doors open like a picnic in the countryside, i on the other hand would be clinging on for dear life even with a parachute.

To be honest I would be fine (and loving it) until I had to step outside the frame and climb up. At that point I'd probably want to speak to my Mum.

At least with the skyscrapers and radio masts, you can be reasonably confident that the thing you are holding on to is pretty sound. Less so on this trail through a Spanish gorge.

I know what you mean. :) Oddly I didn't have that reaction watching it on the small screen of my phone but it kicked in bigtime when I watched the vid again on my TV.

Those aren't exactly scary heights though - you might get vertigo looking down but you aren't going to think 'if I make a mistake now, I'm dead'. Exposed walks and scrambles in the Highlands are not really the same thing as quaffing Champagne in a tower block.

Free climbing like those guys are doing is for macho idiots, and the fastest way to get fired over here. It's also not worth it, as double clipping doesn't take any more time if you know what you are doing. I climb masts and towers as part of my job, been to the top of virtually every broadcast structure in the country over the years. Rowridge is probably my personal favourite as it's in the middle of the Isle of Wight and the views are pretty stunning.

Does MastClimberRadar have free climbing debates like BikeRadar has helmet threads or LFGSS has brakeless threads?

Well, you will notice he is wearing a helmet... 'cause when you plummet 1768ft to the ground, as long as you go head first you'll be fine.
