I hit the big 50 next week and am being allowed to buy myself a new bike as my pressie!!
Due to deals available I am looking at the following two
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/spe ... e-ec052284
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cha ... e-ec053628
I will be doing bridleways/singletrack and Flitch Way (old railway line Essex) nothing too technical I doubt I could bunnyhop a lolly stick!
Also will be shown up completely by my fifteen year old daughter if our road rides are any indication.
All advice greatfully received.

They are both OK. With a combination of discounts you'll get this for nearly the price of the Charge, and I'd prefer it.

It might be a bit more suitable for "trail" riding, rather than gentle stuff but if you want to the harder stuff it'll be ace.0 -

Check the on line reviews, this is a much better bike for slightly more.0 -
In order of quality and value.
1. Voodoo
2. Charge
3.
4.
5. SpecializedFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Take a look at this:

Might not have all the gears you want, but really nice fork for this cash.0 -
Can I throw this into the mix...

If you are ok to buy on line, it is good value and has all good if basic kit. A basic rockshox air fork and shimano kit including their good if basic 395 disc brakes.0 -

I like this.
How does it compare to VooDoo in terms of spec ??0 -
As good as, or better, in all departments. Very nice bike.0

Nice one!
Let us know how you getting on.
What frame size did you go for & and how tall are you ??
I am thinking about same bike0 -
I'm about 6ft so went for the 20" (only two sizes to choose from so not a big decision)
I live in Elsenham which is about 5 miles north of the Flitch Way near the western end of it. On the rides list along with lots of local green lanes and bridleways.0 -

Yeah, I know about frames in sizes 18" & 20" only & 16".
I am 5-10 / 5-11 so not sure which one.
May find one of the bigger Halfords who have got them in stock and try...
Cheers0 -
For anyone else looking for this kind of thing this is a serious contender spec wise for £100 more than the Bizango.
