The route is in the document linked below about corporate hospitality, and yes there's only 13 km of ITT;

  • A climber's tour. Can't seem to download that pdf, maybe they've taken it down, did it have any more detail?

That's a great route for Andy Sch... oh wait. No. :(
  • No, there wasn't any more detail. I have a copy of the PDF but can't see any way to upload it here ? The link may be suffering from a bit of a deluge of traffic!

    BOOOOOM
Contador to go toe to toe with Quintana and bag his 9th GT (after winning the Giro).

ps. I completely disagree with leaks in this context.

  • So, the GT that is head and shoulders above the other two has a massive
    14kms of ITT?
The ASO must really like those Vuelta routes....

If that is the actual route then the Tour will most likely be decided by a series of 500m-1km sprints at the end of MTFs. Whoever has taken over from Peschaux as race director clearly doesn't understand that TTs (particularly if they are near the end) encourage attacking.

Rumour has it that the 110 km Alpe d'Huez stage is actually an ITT...

I was amusing myself with the thought that the 107km into Paris might be an ITT :D.

Can anyone put any fleah on the bones of the key stages? Will the Alpe D'Huez stage go over the Galibier similar to the 2011 stage Contador attacked early on, if the Etape is the day before what is the likely route ?

As for lack of itt kms - I'm not a fan of time trials but whether they encourage attacking or not is surely down to how the race plays out. If Froome is the strongest climber then having an itt which favours him hardly makes the race more exciting. I think the organisers are looking at there being a group of climbers who look fairly well matched and a group just below that level who could threaten if the favourites watch each other - a long itt would take some of those riders out of contention and that's probably their thinking. If however they really are having an itt over the Galibier and up the Alpe that will be a real unknown - if only - I might even travel over to watch that.

Even if it's not a TT that last short stage will be crazy - attacks from as far out as possible all day.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

Is it that the French riders don't TT very well but now at present they climb pretty well. ?????
The ASO dearly want a Frenchman to win because of the sponsorship.
    well I only ask.

Pinot finished 12th in the final TT this year, and that was one for the specialists. Likewise Peraud is more a TTer who can climb rather than the other way round.

Might as well get used to it. That's what we get when people get all excited about 20 km of live tv with 1km of racing/sprints from the Vuelta.

No proper TT? That's a joke

Given the distance of the stage to AdH, it can only go over the Telegraph/Galibier so a repeat of the 2011 stage 19. The stage to pra-loup looks like it could include the cols of allos and champs.

Someone has pointed out that having a team time trial outside the first third of a race is against UCI rules.

So maybe this leak may be a decoy leak.

The rumours about that stage have been pretty solid since a couple of weeks ago, as have the reminders that it would be against UCI rules. The only thing I can think of is that the ITT and TTT are arse about tit. Or whoever has 'leaked' the route has just taken the strongest looking rumours to make an elaborate hoax.

Maybe ASO have given someone they suspect of leaking information in the past a dodgy route to confirm their suspiscions.

28k TTT? What impact is that going to make if any? A flat out train. Could be windy in Holland/Belgium/Northern France - hopefully it won't remove key players.
A big group approaching the Mur De Huy could be chaos.

Who missed out? Colombia and UHC?

No-one really. The choice was pretty obvious. I think UHC are focusing on trying ot get in the Giro.
