lights, electronics, misbehaving leds....

So here's whats happened. I've got a pretty generic Trustfire 501b with a xml -t6 led. I upgraded the led to an xml 2. They looked fairly identical to be honest, but it is A LOT brighter!
But, I've lost all the modes. It had the usual hi, mid, low, flash, sos modes, now its just hi. Have i somehow messed up the driver? Or could my wiring be touching something its not meant to thus bypassing the driver board.

Basically, has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone know what I'm talking about?!

There are torch fora where you'll find loads and loads of people who do this sort of thing all the time. A quick search of"torch forum" or "flashlight forum" should put you on the right track
