so my r5 has a tapered fork 1-1/8 x 1-3/8 inch......does anyone know if i can source forks with these dimensions? Is my frame effectively trashed because i can't buy direct replacement forks?

You will probably find that they are 3T Funda Team forks, readily available but perhaps not in a matching colour scheme, you could also upgrade if you wanted to the 3T Rigida LTD forks, lighter and stiffer.
  • unfortunately they are 1-1/8 tapered to 1-1/4 only so don't fit :(

Is the fork actually tapered or just the bearings that are a different size? Tapered head tubes usually just mean a bigger (more load bearing) bearing at the bottom, the steerer itself is still a plain round tube.

Either way given the hassle of fork rake and the various options there I'd take it to a decent bike shop and ask for help.
  • yep the steerer is tapered and its a specific fit to cervelo as they believe 1-1/8 x 1-1/4 is inferior......sounds similar to bbright!!!

i have managed to track down an sl cervelo fork so hopefully that will turn up next week......proprietary standards suck!

give me english threaded bb's and standard steerers....how i long for the old days
